New is a high gloss hard wearing White polyurethane painted finish. Wall bracket included plus the wall screws and plug fixings are included for fitting to brick/masonry type walls. The maximum weight capacity of this floating shelf is only achieved when fitting correctly into good condition solid brick type walls, or into the studs in a hollow cavity type wall. Extra holes can be drilled in the bracket base to coincide with stud positioning if required (recommended). This floating shelf can be fitted to hollow cavity walls using high quality hollow wall anchors available here. A minimum of 5 are required per shelf (featured below in the image). Weight capacity is then based on the strength of the wall sheet (e.g. gyprock, villaboard). If in doubt contact a qualified tradesman who has experience in fitting floating shelves. We do not recommend using lighter duty wall mates type hollow wall anchors for fitting floating shelf brackets to gyprock sheet. A correctly installed floating shelf bracket will have no visible movement between the brackets base plate and the wall surface when load is applied to the bracket rods. The installer must check this before fitting the shelf to the installed wall mounted bracket.
